Livi – Linked Vicinity
Therapeutical immersion
Fears are individual. Fears are difficult to understand for other persons and it isn’t always possible to confront ones fears alone. «LIVI» creates a real virtuality between two persons. It enables the patient to confront the own fear step by step in a safe and supportive environment. This is possible via VR glasses and a joystick with which the scout can be steered into a fearful situation. The steering works over vibration motors which signal the movements to the scout. The audio channel is free for the therapeutical conversation and the transmission of feelings. Depending on the severeness of the anxiety the scout can either be the therapist or a close person as well. Through livi the scout experiences how the patient feels. «LIVI» was realized at the ZHdK in cooperation with Nadja Müller, Illaria Stadel and Jannic Mascello.
